Atlas Earth: My Favorite App For Making Extra Spending Money

Sometimes a full-time job is just not enough. Sometimes I need a little extra cash to do the things I want to do or buy the things I want to buy. Maybe I want to go out to eat instead of cooking at home, and the grocery budget does not allow for eating out. Maybe I want to take a trip to the Wal-Mart 30 miles away, but gasoline is so expensive that I cannot afford it. So, what do I do? I have found an application that allows me to earn a few extra dollars each month, and it is so addicting. That app is Atlas Earth.

What is Atlas Earth?

Atlas Earth is an app that allows you to earn money by collecting rent on virtual land that you purchase using virtual bucks called Atlas Bucks. The app uses GPS location services to locate you on the map. The screen actually shows your street location very similar to the way a GPS navigation system does. The entire landscape is divided into squares of virtual land that you can purchase with Atlas Bucks. Once purchased, you earn a fraction of a cent every second, even when you are not using the app.

How do you get Atlas Bucks?

You can obtain Atlas Bucks in various ways. You can purchase Atlas Bucks using real money. You can watch video ads to earn Atlas Bucks. You can spin a wheel and win Atlas Bucks using diamonds that you collect while walking. You can earn Atlas Bucks by collecting them as a daily login bonus. Lastly, there are events that you can participate in that allow you to win Atlas Bucks.

How much do I earn?

Starting out, you will not earn much. But once you have earned enough Atlas Bucks to purchase several plots of virtual land, you will begin to earn more, more quickly. I have been playing for a year and I now earn about $18 a month, but I have to activate a boost mode in order to earn that much. Initially, you can activate a boost of 30% increase in earnings for 1 hour by watching 1 video ad. You can accumulate up to 6 hours of boost time at once, which means that it would be very hard to maintain a boost 24 hours a day, unless you sleep less than 6 hours a night.

It does not seem like much at first, but it becomes addicting. I find myself stopping whatever I am doing to watch videos to maintain my boost. Watching an ad to earn 2 Atlas Bucks can only be done once every 20 minutes, so those who become addicted watch the clock constantly in order to not miss the opportunity to earn more Atlas Bucks.

How much is a plot of land?

A plot of land, at the time of this post, costs 100 Atlas Bucks. There are plans to have more expensive plots later, and I think the app already allows you to sell plots at higher prices to those who want to buy plots you have purchased.

Not every plot of land is equal. A common plot will earn a very small amount per second, but there are rare, epic, and legendary plots that earn slightly more per second.

Can you earn more?

To earn even more, when you travel, you can use Atlas Bucks to purchase badges for the areas you travel to. And you can earn the title of Mayor, Governor, or even President by buying the most plots of land in a given city, state, or nation. I am currently the mayor of the city where I live in Atlas Earth, but I only have about 140 plots of virtual land.

How do you get paid?

Once my total cash reaches $5, I cash out to my PayPal account. I cash out once about every 8 days now. And the more I play, the faster I earn the $5. I know $5 is not much, but $5 is better than no extra money at all.

Why do I like it so much?

I have used many apps over the years to earn extra cash, and I still use other apps alongside Atlas Earth. The reason that I like Atlas Earth so much is because the amount I earn is predictable. I earn a certain amount every second, and the more I play the higher that amount increases. With other apps (I will discuss the other apps I use in another post) the amount of money I make is not as predictable. Some days I might make $1 and other days I might make a few cents. It seems that the apps put processes in place to keep you from earning consistently. But, Atlas Earth is different. As long as I watch the video ads, I can predict how long it will take me to make $5. Now, if I don’t want to watch any ads at all, or even remove the app from my phone, with the 140 virtual land plots that I currently have, I would still make $7.65 a year. That is more than the 7 cents a year I was earning with a $1000 CD deposit at a local bank. I would still need to reinstall the app to cash out, however.

Give it a try!

So, if you give it a try, let me know what you think. Do you think the few extra dollars is worth the time that you take to watch the ads each day?
